Elder Law

Estate planning (including taxation and administration), medical rights, disability, guardianship, and estate or individual financial administration and end-of-life planning; are the chief concerns of elder law. In combination with estate planning and the continuity of assets and wealth, retirement, power of attorney and medical care directives, a prudent plan for aging is especially valid for both older people and their families.

Additionally, legal protections should be considered in cases of neglect or abuse, assistance in living situations, defense against fraud or manipulation and the access to support from local and state counseling, support groups, respite care and other community-based services.

St Croix Law is a strong advocate of the concerns for the rights of older family members and serves in the MSBA Elder Law Section.
